Welcome to the "Painting Wild Scotland " website. This site showcases the limited edition prints, open edition prints and cards produced by Carrbridge Artist Jeff Buttress. Jeff specializes in painting wild mountain scenery, landscapes and seascapes primarily in watercolour but also produces work in Oils and in Pastels. His wide range of subjects include The Cairngorms National Park, Scottish west coast including seascapes withhis Drascombe lugger, wildlife subjects, long distance footpaths and Munro's. Jeff works from his studio and gallery in Carrbridge which he shares with his potter & chainsaw carver wife Alice Buttress. I find pencil sketching outdoors, watercolour and pastels my preferred media. The immediacy of these media is both exciting and stimulating and at times frustrating. I particularly love remote scenes without the intrusion of the modern world. I am pleased to offer prints of my work for sale through "Painting Wild Scotland" |
